There are lots of things you can do to personalise your AOL.co.uk homepage. For instance, you can apply a special theme and add your favourite sites to My Links. In the past, we've saved settings like this on your computer in a browser cookie. This method works fine for most, but there is always the chance that this information can be cleared from your computer and wipe away any personalised settings.

To reduce the risk of this happening, all of your settings will now be tied to your AOL/AIM screen name when you sign in to the page. This means that your preferences will follow you to any computer you use to sign in. You'll get your page just the way you like it whether you are at work, home, on the go - anywhere!

- Customise your page

Signing in on AOL.co.uk is easy! Just look for the "Sign In" link available next to Search at the top right of the page:


If you haven't yet customised anything on AOL.co.uk, we recommend signing in first to ensure that everything is applied to your screen name. And if you have already customised parts of your homepage, we will save your preferences to your screen name the first time you sign in. After that, you will want to sign in before you make additional updates in order for them to be saved properly.

That's why we're introducing expand and collapse capabilities onto sections of AOL.co.uk. The new functionality will allow you to add and remove content areas in the middle of the page.


Once you've clicked the button, an editable area will open up in the top of the middle column. See below:

Don't want to see Entertainment News? Uncheck the box, click on "Save Changes" and that content area will be removed from the page. If you change your mind later you can always click on the "Customise" button again to open the edit area and check the box.

Want to add the new widgets experience with eBay, Flickr, Stock Watch and more? Simply check the Widgets box and click 'Save Changes'.
